Travel Information

The city airport of Firenze, Amerigo Vespucci Airport, is located a few kilometers north-west of the city center that can be easily reached thanks to the several services (public and private). Firenze is also served by the airport of Pisa, Galileo Galilei Airport, and of Bologna, Guglielmo Marconi Airport. Direct trains from Galileo Galilei Airport to Firenze railway stations run every 60 minutes; also bus services connect Galileo Galilei Airport to Firenze. To reach Firenze from Guglielmo Marconi Airport, instead, there is a bus connecting the airport with the Bologna railway station, from which several trains go to Firenze (included high-speed trains).

Firenze is also well serviced by the railway network, many main european cities are directly connected to Firenze via Eurocity and Euronight trains. Eurostar trains from/to Rome, Milan, Venice and all the most important towns of Italy are frequent and trains going between northern and southern cities of Italy usually stop in Firenze as it is the major town of central Italy.

From the Amerigo Vespucci Airport

If you arrive at the airport, the easiest way to arrive at NIC is by a taxi; it should take approximately ten minutes. There is also a bus going to the central railway station (Firenze S. Maria Novella); to go from there to NIC, see below.

From Firenze S. Maria Novella Railway Station

If you arrive at the S. Maria Novella railway station, take bus n. 14A or B (direction: Careggi). The bus stop to get off is Ospedale di Careggi.

From Firenze Rifredi Railway Station

NIC is reachable in 10 minutes by walking. From the station square take via Steccuto, turn right at the first crossing (via R. Giuliani), then, at a petrol station, turn left to via S. Stefano in Pane. At the second traffic light of via S. Stefano in Pane you will meet Viale Morgagni, turn left and go straight ahead as far as the roundabout. When you reach the roundabout, NIC is in front of you.

From the Motorway

From Firenze Nord, follow the signs for per Ospedale Careggi/RIFREDI Railway Station. Then, look for Piazza Dalmazia/Viale Morgagni. NIC is at the north end of Viale Morgagni, in front of the roundabout.
